SUBMISSION:

  To apply for membership, it is required that you send us an email  with a sample of your artwork, a brief artist statement and, if  applicable, a link to your website. As we work strictly by  appointment, we ask that you do not make phone calls or walk-in  pertaining submissions.

By sending us your information by email, we are able to give your  application our full attention. We can view and enjoy your artwork,  keep track of your application status, and get back to you in a  timely manner. It is also recommended that you title the subject of  your email ‘SUBMISSION’.

THE AGREEMENT:

  La Petite Mort Gallery (LPM) offers the chosen artists a one-year  membership. In this agreement, the artists have many benefits,  including a 24-hour exhibit entitled ‘One Night Stand’. The artist’s  artwork will also be included in the LPM collection of artworks for  sale, which is available to any visitor of LPM. An agreed upon number  of pieces will be stored for the duration of the agreement, at a  price determined by the artist and LPM. As the artwork in the main  gallery MUST be rotated at regular intervals, the artist is  encouraged to bring new artworks regularly. It not only helps keeping  the gallery’s look fresh and innovative, it gives the artist more  exposure and more chance for sale.

We do not base our acceptance of  new members on their previous exhibit history. We believe in  supporting local, national or international artists that show  originality, individuality and creativity. Whether the artist is  emerging or well renowned, we are looking for artists that, most and  foremost, express a deep passion for their art, and can express that  passion through their work.
As a gallery, LPM does not believe in  restricting its artists in selling and/or showing in other galleries/ venues, so our agreement is not an agreement of exclusivity. Under  the agreement, LPM will earn a commission of 40% on sales, and the  artist pays a yearly fee of 300$.
