Artist: Pudlo Pudlat (Canadian, 1916 ─ 1992)
Born in Nunavut at a camp near Amadjauk in 1916, Pudlo Pudlat is best known for his dynamic prints and drawings which often incorporate contemporary imagery with depictions of traditional life in the north.
An extremely prolific artist, Pudlat produced over 4,500 prints, drawings and paintings in a 33 year period. His work can be found in prestigious national collections as well as in international holdings at the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Dennos Museum Centre (Michigan), and the Amon Carter Museum of Western Art (Texas) to name a few.
