One Night Stand with Meenu Aeri Oct 24, 2008 / 7 - 10pm
I have been painting and sketching since childhood and am self-taught. Some of earliest memories of being in front of a canvas with brush in hand are when I was 7 or 8 years old.
My motivation lies in my love of colour, texture, form, and movement. My inspirations are my cultural background, my travels, the people in my life, nature, and raw emotions.
I feel: I see: I hear; I express.
I am presently working with abstract style using both acrylic and oils. Many of my paintings contain detailed ornamentation and texture.
I love and crave detail. Just as life is not simple, what I have to say is not in black and white.
I have been told by some that my paintings evoke a feeling of colour exploding on the canvas. I cant disagree. What has motivated me for a specific piece Im working on
The answer always comes afterward.
Though everyones perspective or response to my work is always an interest me, the
journey or result of my creations is what drives me.
Art is truly expression. Expression should be from the soul and without boundaries.
