La Petite Mort Gallery is pleased to host its second fundraiser for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Canada, the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. The exhibition, “Humanitarianism Through Art,” will include photographs which forty artists have very generously agreed to donate to assist MSF in their work.

The exhibition preview will take place at La Petite Mort Gallery from Thursday 4 November through Saturday 6 November, and the Vernissage and sale will take place on Saturday 6 November beginning at 7 p.m. sharp. Again this year, the photographs will be unmatted and unframed, each photograph and book will be sold for $100 (cash or cheque), and all the profits will go to MSF Canada. As was also the case last year, we will be accepting donations (cash or cheque) on behalf of MSF. In addition, an on-line catalogue showing all the works will be available in October 2010.

Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion, and natural or man-made disasters, and they do so irrespective of race, religion, creed, or political convictions.

Guy Bérubé, the Director of La Petite Mort Gallery, is very excited to be hosting the MSF fundraiser again this year and would like to thank all the artists who have been so generous in donating work. “In addition to being a wonderful cause, this is also a great opportunity to buy fantastic artwork at an amazing price.”

Julie Hodgson, who is organizing the fundraiser with Guy Bérubé, is honoured to be working on its second edition. “We had a huge success with last year’s fundraiser. The buyers were enthusiastic, generous, and bought everything, which allowed us to send close to $4,000 to MSF. I would like to thank MSF for their vision, dedication, and service, and am grateful to all the artists who have so generously donated their work, and to Guy for his enthusiasm and compassion. I look forward to a great event again this year and encourage MSF supporters to come with their families, friends, and colleagues to celebrate and support this wonderful organization.”
