“I write this manifesto and I want nothing, and in principle I am against manifestos as I am against principles.” –Tzara

The Evolution of Nothing is an artistic investigation that mines the subconscious, seeking an existential cosmology, offering alternative explanations and predictions for the evolution of human perception. Chance encounters between random pieces of information, create, at the point of collision, ambiguous interpretations of intuitional events and anomalies. Dada sensibilities dismiss the need for premise or resolution, daring the viewer to viscerally inhabit universes in flux, melding, dissolving, evolving into ominous images of a renewed invention of choices for humanity.
The principal thrust of the show is the series of collages in which unthinking is reracked to erase presumptions of the future. Other works in this show include a series of ten pieces titled “Scientific Mothers…..When Things Go Wrong” genetically engineered to explain fraudulent progeny. David Hynes has created works which confronts our intuition, challenges our acuity, and defies the viewer to reinterpret perceptions and sensibilities.

For the opening of the show an outdoor sculpture that contemplates “intangible cosmic concerns” will be assembled in the alleyway between the two buildings. A recent sculpture providing bonus subliminal elucidation will be displayed in the gallery.
